Races allowed in the Campaign and Racial Outlook
(Advanced Races page 84) are very rare.
Asheratis (Sandstorm page 37) are little known, outside of their deserts, and would be treated by most as humans.
Aventie (Stormwreck page 34) would be treated like sea elves by most.
Bhukas (Sandstorm page 39) are very rare and are considered goblins.
Blues are seen as goblins with a color disorder. Few people know what a blue means in goblin society. Hobgoblins do and they resent blues with influence among goblins and hobgoblins.
Boggles (Alluria Publishing) are rare and often mistake for goblins. They are disliked by most races.
Catfolk (Advanced Races page 84) are rare. They are alien enough to most races that they can be treated as unique, but they get along with fey related races like elves and killoren.
Changelings (Advance Races page 184) are found all over, but they are rare. Most people would hold their hertiage against them if they knew they were children of hags.
Darfellan (Stormwreck page 37) are rare and are different enough from most creatures that they can expect to be treated as strange creatures.
Dragonic Races (Dragon magic page 6+) are made up of one race crossbreed with a species of dragon. They are very rare and would be treated as their primary racial component. Spellscales would see the dragon in them making them close cousins, all others would treat them cautiously.
Dromite (Psionics Unleashed page ) are almost unknown, coming from a far off location. They are alien enough to be treated as unique creatures. They don't like dwarves and get along well with elves and maneids. Remember that only males adventure, the females are like queens in a bee hive there is only one per community.
Drow are uncommon and universally hated, however there is a tradiation of secret worship to Loth in Seagate, started by LeBlanc; the famous member of Avalanche (a successful adventuring group).
Duergar are very rare and often mistaken for dwarves. They are almost universally hated, especially by dwarves and drow. To the other races the duergar are a little insane. They talk about some mysterious sleeping god that they work hard at distracting. There is no proof for this god though, no matter how much they claim the threat is real. Thus duergar are unpopular with most races, and most non-duergar people.
Dwarves are common. Dwarves are diskliked by goblins, gnolls, hobgoblins, orcs and most half-orcs. They are very gruff with humans and don't get along well with elves. There is deep hatred against drow and duergar; those races are age-old enemies of the dwarves. Dromites are seen as being too strange by dwarves. Half Giants and Goliaths are seen as probable giants and so disliked, dwarves train their young to fight well against giants including half-giants.
Dwarf, Badlands (Sandstorm page 42) are rare since there is not much desert n the area. They would be treated as other dwarves.
Dwarf, Dream (Races of Stone) are rare. They would be treated as other dwarves.
Dwarf, Glacier (Frostburn page 34) are rare. They would be treated as other dwarves.
Dwarf, Seacliff (Stormwreck) are common. They would be treated as other dwarves.
Elan (Psionics Unleased page 10) are very rare--they are a special psionic race created from humans. If more were known about them they would be considered to be a danger to the Empire of Reason. Most people would treat them as normal humans (Elans trance for 4 hours a night just like elves do).
Elf;, High elves are very common with an equal community of Grey and Wild Elves, most come from Gongaga and Econotel. Elves are diskliked by giants, goblins, gnolls, half giants, hobgoblins, orcs and most half-orcs. They don't get along well with dwarves.
Elf, Painted (Sandstorm page 42) are rare. They would be treated as other elves.
Elf, Snow (Frostburn page 34) are rare. They would be treated as other elves.
Feral Gargun don't come down from the mountains very often so they are rare. They get along best with Goliaths. Many would mistake them for feral humans and treat them as such.
Githyanki (Expanded Psionics page 10) are considered monsters and are very rare. All races universally suspect them and Githzerai hate them.

Goblins are common and they would be treated as enemies by the Empire of Reason. They represent races that were prominent in the Inhuman Wars. Some societies are lead by blues and some society try to destroy them. Boggles are usually feared for the madness that they will eventually undergo.
Goliaths (Races of Stone page 56) are rare, they don't come down from the mountains very often. They get along the best with half-giants who they see as fellow creatures. They get along poorly with gnomes, halflings, uldra, xelphs and other short race members.
Gnolls are considered monsters and are very rare. Most are found east of the Empire of Reason and are treated by the Empire as enemies. They get along best with blues, boggles, goblins, half-orcs, and hobgoblins
Gnomes are a small minority in Lilis. They don't trust the Lizard Men, since they have eaten gnomes. They can expect good treatment by most races; except goblins, gnolls, hobgoblins, orcs and half-orcs. They tend to fear goliaths and half giants; these creatures are too big and could suppress the shorter races too easily. Few have patience for elves, they deal better with those who have life span similar to humans; only those races feel the need to move as frenetically as gnomes do. They are often seen as "game" by bugbears, goblins, gnolls, hobgoblins, lizard men and orcs. They share the short viewpoint with xelphs, uldra, dromites and haflings; giving them common ground.
Gnome, Chaos (Races of Stone page 86) are rare. They would be treated as other gnomes. They get along fairly well with most races expect for goblins, gnolls, hobgoblins, orcs and half-orcs. They get along best with dwarves.
Gnome, Ice (Frostburn page 35) are rare. They would be treated as other gnomes.
Gnome, Wavecrest (Stormwreck) are rare. They would be treated as other gnomes.
Gnome, Whisper (Race of Stone) are fairly rare. They would be treated as other gnomes.
Gnome, Wavecrest (Races of Stone page 86) are uncommon and would be treated as other gnomes.
Gripplis (Advanced Races page 190) are found only along the western coast of Rokugani making them rare on Sorrid, but common in parts of Rokugani.
Hadozee (Stormwreck) are ucommon. They do work on several ships that regularly visit Seagate. It is not known what area of the world they are native to. They get along with most races and are considered alien enough to be unique. They get along poorly with spellscales, with which they have a competition for land in their homelands.
Half-Elves are common, but few others consider, or care about, what their parent's race is. They don't get along with elves who often see them as mistakes. They don't fit well in human society either. Most other races see them as a subtype of elf.
Half Giants (Psionics Unleashed page 13) are better accepted than Half-Orcs, but they still come from a monster race. They get along with most races, but don't do as well with elves, they do best with goliaths. Half giants like humans and half breeds like half orcs and half elves. They worry about stepping on haflings and gnomes hurting them; these races are seen as being much too fragile. Dromoites, uldra and xephs are also seen as a fragile race by half giants. They don't understand duergar well and face a lot of racial prejudice from elves. Ophiduans and Yuan-Ti with their expansionist ideas are seen as competiton by half giants. The longer lived races like elves and dwarves are seen as living too slow. They are seen as kindred spirits by goliaths (like goliaths they are Medium until it becomes an advantage to be large). They like half-elves and humans.
Half-Orges (Adamant Entertainment) are seen as members of the inhumaniods and so as enemies by most people.
Half-Orcs are a fact of life, they are few and not well accepted in the Empire of Reason. The orcs were defeated in the last war. Some half-orcs are members of the Empire of Reason in good standing, but most are treated as enemies. They especially hate elves.
Half-Orc, Scablands (Sandstorm page 43) are very rare since few come from the deserts. They would be treated as other Orcs; as enemies of the Empire of Reason.
Haflings have a small permanent community in Seagate and treaties for carven use in a park. They hate goblins, gnolls, hobgoblins, orcs and most half-orcs since they often raid their caravans. They are seen as careless by many races. They tend to fear goliaths and half giants; these creatures are too big and could suppress the shorter races too easily.
Haflings, Shoal: (Stormwreck page 45) are rare and would be treated like normal haflings.
Haflings, Tundra (Frostburn page 36) are very rare. They would be treated as other Haflings.
Hengeyokai (Rite Publishing) look like human animal crossbreeds and would be seen by many as strange humans. They are the only race that has good relations with the thri-kreen.
Hobgoblins (Advanced Races page 120) are common to the east of the Empire of Reason and are treated by the Empire as enemies. They tend to repress goblins and boggles. They don't trust blues, who could become leaders of their society.
Humans are quite common. They can expect poor treatment at the hands of goblins, hobgoblins, orcs, and most half orcs. The Empire of Reason was recently at war with them. They get along well with most other races.
Illumian: (Races. of Destiny page 45) are rare and all, but unknown to the Empire of Reason.
Killoren are rare. They are strongly allied with the elves.
Kitsune (Advanced Races page 192) came from the realm of Sakkaku and are common on Rokugani, but rare in most other locations.
Kobolds (Advanced Races page 132) are rare, but several dwarves regularly do business with them so they are accepted by some dwarves. They get treated as cousins by Lizard Men and are accepted in the Lilis area, but in most areas they are treated as foes.
Lizard Men (Paizo Fans United) are common south of Seagate and some do come to the big city. They are seen as bullies, especially by the gnomes. They get along best with koblolds who they see as junior partners.
Maenads (Psionics Unleashed page 15) are known as an emotional race and are fairly uncommon. Most races would treat them like humans. Maenads don't like haflings and gnomes. They also have problems with any race that supports slavery like the duergar, hobgoblins and orcs. They have a hard time understanding gnomes, haflings and xelphs. They get along well with elves and humans, especially those associated with the sea. They get along very well with Hadozee.
Nagaji (Advanced Races page 106) would be likened to yuan-ti and so considered a probably enemy by most people. They are only found on the Rokugani continent.
Neanderthal (Frostburn 37) are almost unknown. Most would treat them like feral humans giving them something in common with feral gargun.
Ophiduans (Psionics Unleashed page 16) are seen by many as cold and unfeeling. They have an expansionist policy which doesn't sit well with yuan-ti, lizard men and several other races. They see most races, except dromites, lizard men, and yuan-ti as soft and too easily damaged. They get along the best with dromites, lizard men, and yuan-ti (the scaley races). Ophiduans have a bite that does 1d8 and a poison that is usable once per day doing 1d8 damage for one minute (10 rounds).
Orcs are common and seen as an enemy by all but the goblinoid races.
Raptor are fairly rare. They are independent and rarely seen. Most would be treated as a strange variant of human.
Svirfneblin (Advanced Races page 204) deep gnomes get along best with gnomes. They are hated by drow.
Ratfolk (Advanced Races page 150) get along with most races, at first, but they tend to wear out their welcome easily. They are rare in Sorrid and risk being lumped in with goblionids.
Raptoran (Races of the Wild page 68) would get along well with Strix, but they are from very different parts of the world. They are sufficiently alien enough that they would be treated as a unique race by most races.
Spellscales (Races of the Dragon page 23) are very rare and hail from an unknown land. Most would be treated as a variant of human. They might be respected best by ophiduans. They see hadozee as competitiors for space.
Stonechild are very uncommon.
Strix (Advanced Races page 200) hail from an unknown land and are very rare. They are alien enough to not be categorized with any other race.
Svartalfar (Paizo Fans United) are all but, unknown on Sorrid and would be treated with care and a lack of trust by most people.
Tengus (Advanced Races page 160) live only on the Rokugani continent and are seen as wise scholars and weapon teachers. They are very rare.
Thri-Kreen (Expanded Psionics page 14) are seen as unusual and alien by most people and would have difficulty getting along with most people. Hengeyokai know of them and treat them as normal people.
Tiefling (Advanced Races page 168) are very rare.
Uldra (Frostburn page 38) are very rare. Most would be treated as an unusual halfling. They get along best with Neanderthals and Ice Gnomes. Snow elves are seen as competition and glacier dwarves are seen as too gruff and impolite.
Umbral Kobold (Heroic Races Comp. page 78) are a recently arrived race from the plane of shadow.
Ursine (Heroic Races Comp. page 98) recently contacted race from Devis.
Vanaras (Advanced Races page 206) are rare, except on the Ivory Coast of the Rokugani continent. They are treated warily once their religion is known since destruction plays an important part in the religion.
Xeph are very rare. Most would be treated as an insectiod halfling. They like many races including; gnomes, haflings, half orcs, humans and killoren. Half-orcs and half-giants are found to be grating on Xeph nerves. They look for the joy in life and can put up a burst of speed adding 10'+10'/4 levels to their move score (maxim +30' at 19th level) 3 times per day.
Yuan-Ti (Expanded Psionics page 217) are seen as a strange corrupt race by most people. They live with Gripplis, lizard men and ophiduans. The gripplis live uneasily with them. The lizard men civilization is replacing theirs. The ophiduans are very similar to yuan-ti and get along the best with them.
If you want to join the majority of civilization then play a Dwarf, Elf, Gnome, Hafling, Half-Elf, or Half-Orc. All others are somewhat rare and could be mistaken as monsters.
The Following Races Are In The Area, But Are Not Allowable Player Races
Aquatic Elves live in the harbor area and they help provide security
around the prison island and the Wizards' College off-shore experiment area.
Centaurs live in the Gongaga Forest south of Seagate.
Satyrs have several small communities in the area. They are reclusive, but individuals often interact briefly with Elves, Half Elves, Gnomes, Centaurs and Humans. They trust the Elves and Centaurs the most, but refuse to enter the Centaur-Wemic war. For a Satyr to seduce a human is considered a great achievement. It is a goal that they often pursue, but not to the point that it causes too many problems.
Svirfneblin live in the mountains, in areas near dwarves, they are not a player race due to their racial SR.
